Northwest pilot "forgot" to land the plane

A co-pilot who "forgot" to land says he was not asleep and there was never any danger to passengers but why did they flew 150 miles past their destination airport remains a mystery. .
 

The first officer of NW188 denied as well disagreement with the captain as suspected earlier. 
 

"We did not sleep; we did not argue we did not fight," said Richard Cole, the pilot.
 

NW188, carryied 144 passengers and five crew members from San Diego to Minneapolis, lost contact with controllers east of Denver, traversed the Plains, flew across busy airways carrying flights to Chicago and flew into Wisconsin before turning back to Minneapolis.
